David Kollar -  The Son (CD Hevhevitia)

This appears to be the second solo album by this guitarist, who here shepherds thirteen cuts of distilled and dreamlike filmic work mostly hewn from more subdued and tempered tones. Embellished with subtle electronics, moody ‘scaping, slo-mo rhythms and even, on a couple of pieces, female vocals, The Son traverses the juncture where space and minimalism breathe of their own accord. This album may not necessarily take you anywhere you’ve not already been before but its power to captivate as it gently shifts from one place to the next as each track unfolds spells out an accomplished mission as far as I’m concerned. Good shit and no mistake. RJ
